As fans patiently await the follow-up to her 2011 album ‘I Remember Me’, powerhouse vocalist Jennifer Hudson is still setting her sights on filling out her acting resume. Already joining Jordin Sparks in a new Alicia Keys-produced film due next year, Hudson is now teaming up with ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back’ beauty Angela Bassett for a film adaptation of Langston Hughes’ classic ‘Black Nativity’.
And, despite word that actors Laurence Fishburne and Samuel L. Jackson have both passed on the film’s leading male role, it is said the Fox Starlight-produced film is still moving full speed ahead (despite previous reports indicating otherwise).
Until that gets sorted out, expect to see Hudson soonest in her portrayal of Winnie Mandela for the Terence Howard-assisted biopic ‘Winnie’.
Keep it locked to That Grape Juice TV for the latest on ‘Nativity’, directed by Kasi Lemmons (‘Eve’s Bayou’).
