The South American country of Colombia was rocked this week after the shooting assassination of 69-year-old druglord Grisela Blanco. Blanco, known by many as the ‘Queen of Cocaine’ or ‘Godmother of Cocaine’, has seen her tale eyed by many-a-Hollywood studio for its biopic promise – namely actor Mark Wahlberg.
While HBO and Paramount Studios have reportedly already placed dibs on the project, Wahlberg confirmed that triple threat diva Jennifer Lopez has expressed interest in the part and is acting as a frontrunner for the leading role.
Despite a highly publicized split from ‘American Idol’ earlier this year, the singer/actress has by no means slowed down. From blazing stages on a world-tour with Enrique Iglesias, the mother-of-two has still managed to star in films, executive produce multiple television shows, and oversee a fashion line!
Lopez’s role in the film has yet been confirmed, but if granted, the singer/actress may be garnering Oscar buzz much like for her portrayal of Tejano singing sensation Selena.
