Maybe down to the ground breaking success of ‘The Writings On The Wall‘ a year later, cuts on Destiny’s Child debut album are oft overlooked by the wider public, save for the success of ‘No No No (Part 2)’.
So today, 14 years after it initially reached listeners, we shine a new light on one of our favorite cuts from the then foursome… ‘Killing Time’.
Penned by Taura Stinson and D’Wayne Wiggins, the jam marks one of the group’s strongest efforts, boasting airtight harmonies and a wicked lead vocal from the then 16 year old Beyonce.

OH YES YES YES YES YES YES. KILLING TIME was Adele before Adele knew what Adele was. The entire sound is so her.
DC broke up too early and I really hope they reunite even if its just for one show. They shouldnt wait for something tragic to happen for them to get back together.

I’ll always believe THIS was DC’s best incarnation. It was the look as well as the vocals. It’s great that Le Toya and Michelle are friends now, but I never believed Michelle was a suitable replacement for her. Le Toya was stunning, confident and looked like she knew what she was doing. Definitely the “H-Town chick” and she carried that ghetto beauty image the best in DC. I laughed at Michelle’s deer-in-the-headlights look especially in “Soldier” where none of them could carry off a convincing hard image. “Lose My Breath” was another opportunity to laugh at Church girl Michelle trying to be “down” with Bey-n-a-Christian and Kelly Kompromise. Lastly, Michelle’s vocal nasality really prevented her from blending with Kelly and Beyonce despite the fact she can sing very well.
I'm not throwing shade, but...

I have to agree with some of the comments, I find Beyonce’s vocals annoying alone and always favoured them in the original Destinys Child. If she was 16 she was the hardest back looking 16 year old! i think that she shaved a few years off her age. This for me was the best Destiny’s Child version
